You gave up space for me inside your womb
Even though I pushed and kicked needing more room.
You went through labour, such an agonising pain
But you suffered it gladly and gave out no blame.
You would cradle and rock me until my eyes began to close
Then you would lay down beside me, touching nose to nose.
You used to drift off to sleep whilst humming sweet lullabies
Until again you were awoken by my shrieking cries.
You fed me and nurtured me always putting my needs first
Struggling sometime from tiredness but still you never cursed.
You put your life on hold so you could always be here
I love you for all you’ve done mum, I hold you very dear.
