First choice

I may not be your first choice

But second place isn’t so far away

I understand you loved another before me

However, I was the one who decided to stay.

I may not be your first but I’m a great choice

I’m not perfect but my love is true

I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth

But stop comparing my love to the one you knew.

I may not be your first but I’m the right choice

I’ve become stronger through mistakes I’ve made

I won’t pretend to be somebody I’m not

Together we’ll make new memories whilst old ones fade.

I may not be your first but I’m a great choice

I realise I’m not perfect but I don’t think anybody is

I’m proud of the person I have become

So please love me and stop thinking about another you miss.

I want to be your only choice

I want to be the one who takes your breath away

I want to be the one who shares your joys and sorrows

I want to be the one that YOU want to stay…
