Hazardous journey

Welcome to my blended story. I have written the 1st paragraph. My 10 year old son wrote the 2nd and I concluded the story in the 3rd paragraph… Enjoy!

It’s another miserable, dreary morning! The rain clouds have opened upon us once again, sinking my mood even more as I drive into work. I wasn’t looking forward to today, I’ve been dreading it since last week when I set up the meeting. I had an awful feeling something would go wrong… Something in the road ahead distracts me from the thoughts in my head. It can’t be! Is that a… I slam on the brakes just in time…

It’s an enormous lion! He is right in front of my car, staring at me deep into my eyes. He looks angry. What should I do? He roars the loudest roar I have ever heard and jumps towards me…

Suddenly, the cars behind me start to beep their horns! I crouch down in my seat into fetal position to hide from the lion. I am shaking with fear! Now people are shouting at me, telling me to move! Slowly I sit back up whilst looking around, there’s no sign of the lion. I glance around again and I notice people seem infuriated with me. I don’t understand, where did it go?Β I go to restart my car and suddenly catch my reflection in the mirror. Only it’s not me, it’s the lion! He opens his mouth to roar again but this time words are formed instead… “Believe in yourself, allow your inner lion to lead you!”

That was tough! I could have got eaten by the lion, had to fight him to the death or he could have become my new found pet! I asked my son how he would have ended the story, he replied “I would have flying kicked him in the mouth then he would be scared of me and I would become his leader!” So, which ever ending you prefer, I hope you enjoyed our blended story(ies).

Your turn – What is blocking your road? Leave me a comment to let me know…

Suki… X!

  2. I really like this. This works so well. Our son’s block is the outside world and his fear of not being accepted. Mine is currently smelling of garlic and not having anymore lemon in the house….

I liked the lion that your 10 year old got in and the way you took that story forward. That’s a nice collaboration.
