I collect my son from school the other day and he came running out really excited…
Son: Mummy, mummy, we got a publicity talk in school!
Me: Publicity talk? What’s that about?
Son: I’m not sure. Maybe we’re going to film something in school that the teachers will put online.
Me: That sounds exciting.
Son: Yeah! I’ve got a letter for you to sign if I’m allowed to be involved.
I agree to sign the letter when we get home. But his excitement didn’t stop there! His mind wondered, exploring all the possibilities of what exactly they might be doing. Maybe filming a short interview about their latest topic – Space. Maybe they were going to film a play, maybe he would be on YouTube, maybe ‘this’ and maybe ‘that’… I told him, he’ll just have to wait to find out more from his teacher.
So we reach home and I retrieve the letter from his bag hoping it contains some information I can use to settle his brain… It did!
Me: I’ve signed your letter, you can take it back to school tomorrow.
Son: Did it say what we are doing?
Me: It sure did… You’re not having a publicity talk, You’re having a puberty talk!
It goes to show how much attention he pays in class!
Obviously he was very disappointed! Especially after I explained what puberty actually meant!
Now I’m wondering how the talk will go and which words he’ll get wrong on that day!

that’s so funny!

Bless him! A puberty talk is definitely not as interesting as the cool film he was imagining shooting.

πππ poor teachers for trying to explain puberty to such young minds! He is funny, he needs to learn to listenπinstead of making up his own stories! π

This story should be turned into a short film to promote puberty talks in school. That can be the publicity part for your lad ππ€£
