Thank you Bereaved Single Dad for nominating me to take part in the tell a story from the picture challenge.
I’ve walked for hours trying to clear my head. I didn’t notice the darkness befall me just as I have not noticed the path I took. I just walked, hoping with every step I take, I could stamp out a problem on my ever growing list of worries. Hoping the fresh air would sweep through my soul and lighten my burdens as it does so. Hoping for a sign to guide me, to tell me what to do.
The sign appears at the end of the pathway in the form of a road sign, posted on the crossroads. One points to the direction of my village, my home, my family and also all my worries The other points away from it but the lettering is fading and I am unable to make it out. All I can see is:
I try to focus, to work out the writing. Where is this sign pointing to? I stare at it without blinking…
Suddenly it starts to become clear… Suddenly the faded letters start to appear before me and suddenly I know which way I am going to go… Hopes Way.
I start walking again, not thinking about what comes next but instead focusing on what the sigh has told me. I start my journey towards Hope.
I hope you enjoyed my story. I leave this challenge open to anybody who would like to take part, I would love to read where this picture takes your imagination…
