Slow down, Life

Sometimes life gets so busy, we forget to take in all the little things that make it so special.

So it’s time for us to step back, even if just for short moments, to capture little treasures we can keep safe in our hearts.

Such as beautiful smiles from loved ones, giggles that make our hearts flutter, the simple conversations about nothing at all apart from the need to communicate, the scents of the world, the movement of the clouds, the feeling of touch, the sensations different moments trigger, the feel of fresh air on our cheeks… all the little things that make you realise you are living, not just existing.

Time will not slow down for us but we can learn to use it more wisely….

Suki… X!

You are so right Suki. It is so easy to get tied up in busyness. Well, not so for me now, but I know generally that is true. ❀️

  2. I confess, Suki, when I saw the title of this post, “Slow down life”, the thought raced across my mind, “NO! I can’t wait to learn more! I want to know now what I’ll know in twenty years (if I live)! Don’t slow down! Speed up!”

Ah! But then you pointed out: “Sometimes life gets so busy, we forget to take in all the little things that make it so special.” I must admit, that’s a deal breaker. No matter how fast I want to attain to greater understanding of myself and this world, that’s not something I want to trade off. Thanks for the beautiful reminder! For a known miscreant, you’re always deceptively wonderful. Thanks, Suki.

I think your last line, about using time more wisely, is the most important.

With all the distractions that are available, It is far too easy to let trivia soak up our time and necessary; every now and then, to stop and remind ourselves what is important in our lives.

  6. I can almost feel this. Everyday I wake up, and I think I have one more day today, but then- snap, and the day is gone.
I find myself saying this again and again, “Life, please slow down.” And believe me, more often than not, I don’t even realise whats going on, it moves on, so fast.

Life is so fast today because of technological developments and other stuff so every now and then you need to slow down and relax so that can happen if you visit rural areas just for fresh air and relaxation.

True, I love long walks through parks & countryside. We often go out as a family on the weekends with the dog, it really does help… ❀

  15. A good bit of wisdom to remember always. Life is always rushing all around us and driving us to get on the highway of life and follow along in the traffic. But there is so much more to life that we are missing when we don’t stop, look, and listen, and perhaps reflect on all that is. Thank you kindly.
